Hi,
I’m Sophia Kim. I’m a passionate graphic designer in beautiful Vancouver, I have worked for a number of large firms in Korea, including LG, Hyundai, and Kia. I have designed user interfaces for a variety of devices. Mobile Phone, Vehicle dash board, and appliances. In addition, the last 7 years I’ve had a variety of experiences with design. Also I have done marketing and brought customers to our services. I want to use my creative and extensive design experience in a wide variety of media in new projects abroad. I want my designs to reach millions and make an impact in North America. I have successfully worked on group projects, as well as individual design endeavours, and strongly believe in my abilities to deliver professional and imaginative results from even the most demanding clients.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Nov, 2012 – Sep, 2012 Han International Enterprises / Burnaby BC, Canada
I provided a variety of design services. I worked with the sales and marketing team to create concepts, designs, and final products for multiple clients. From brand identity, website, logo design, full marketing materials and brochures to revising existing designs for new products, menu updates, and changes to the customers offerings. I was responsible for working closely with the sales team and directly with customers to come up with creative solution for their needs.
GUI DESIGNER
Dec, 2008 – June, 2011 NCD Partners Co,Ltd. / Seoul, South Korea
I worked with a team to design a wide variety of consumer device user interfaces, from concept to production and manufacturing. As the lead role of the visual presentation for the interface, I was responsible for linking,
in an aesthetic and user-friendly manner, the visual aspect of the interface with its functionality (especially automotive design, where information must be presented in an effective, non disruptive, yet creative manner). Some of the products include the LG Mobile Phone user interface, LG Home appliance such as “Intelligent Stoves” and a fully interactive user interface for air conditioners. In addition, I served as a key member who developed and designed the interactive next generation dashboard for a KIA Hybrid concept vehicle that was showcased at the Seoul Motor Show.
MAGAZINE DESIGNER
Mar, 2007 – Dec, 2008 Design DCI Inc. / Seoul, South Korea
I designed a layout for sections of Lady Kyung Hyang Magazine, utilizing a wide variety of software such as Quark Express and Adobe family of products. My duties included creative analysis of content provided by journalists and writers and I integrated them with art/photographic materials for appealing articles and features. I optimized the positioning of the material and advertisement/promotional content for most effective presentation.
FREE LANCER DESIGNER

I designed the promotional and advertisement flyers for the Hyundai Department Store. I produced a monthly advertisement publication with various content, and worked with sales and promotional departments to create an appealing brochure.
ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

I taught the use of various Adobe design products to educational professionals, such as elementary school teachers, in a skill and technology upgrade program. Focused on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator software packages, which were identified as important for the creation of educational content and presentations.
BRAND IDENTITY DEVELOPER

I worked with the professors as an assistant/intern in designing marketing material for a wide variety of clients from different industries. Some examples of the projects I was involved in designing the materials for are:
• Sixty Plus – An interactive product targeted at the seniors market. Developed and produced the brand identity, brochure, leaflet, and package.
• Dongwoo Industrial Company – Consumer component and product manufacture. Designed brochures and promotion materials.
• Mimoim – Cosmetics retailer, online store for all natural cosmetics. Developed the brand identity, and package.
